Review ★ Roundup

80 – God is a Geek

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection might not feature any updated visuals, but it features tons of content and enjoyable battles.

60 – MP1st

The Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a delightful and painful romp through old stomping grounds that will likely lose its short-lived luster in a matter of weeks.

60 – Pure Xbox

On Xbox, there was always going to be some serious debate about whether fans should consider checking out the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection.

60 – CGM

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection proves that sometimes classics are better left in the past, if you’re just going to update them with a tactless coat of paint.

50 – Playstation Universe

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a reminder of how great these games were at the time they released, but it ultimately fails to do anything better for the players than the original releases did.

45 – Xbox ERA

Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection is a severely disappointing remaster work of two classics that aged a good bunch, yet are still enjoyable due to the sheer quality of these iconic shooters.

40 – Nintendo Life

The irony is that Aspyr has done a nice job with remastering the visuals in both games and we enjoyed seeing the results. But the reality is that these games often feel old, they're extremely buggy, and the online play is hit-and-miss.

30 – Push Square

Aspyr has done a serviceable, even admirable job with its porting of Star Wars titles up to this point, but the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection represents a monumental misstep and a much-deserved blemish on its reputation.

30 – The Gamer

Messy doesn’t even begin to cover the state that the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection launched in, and even though updates are rolling out to make things more tolerable, the ‘improvements’ are loaded with issues that only make matters worse.

30 – Gamespot

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection is ultimately just disappointing. It's unclear whether it wants to be a remaster or a collection that preserves two major games from Star Wars' history, but in both instances, it fails. This is neither an accurate representation of what Battlefront and Battlefront 2 were, nor does it make enough adjustments to bring two decades-old games into the modern era.
