Aspyr provides update for STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection

It’s safe to say that the STAR WARS: Battlefront Classic Collection launch was not an ideal situation for most players. There was only a handful of servers across multiple platforms and the ones that were in use were laggy.

There were also quite a few graphical bugs and glitches and if you applied the day 1 update, which wasn’t available until an hour after release, your profile save files were corrupt. (PS5)

While servers have improved quite a bit over the past 24 hours, there’s still work to be done to get everything stabilized and running normally. Aspyr, the developer of the Classic Collection, has released a statement to address just that and more …

We’d like to thank the Battlefront community for their overwhelming support and feedback for the STAR WARS™ Battlefront Classic Collection release.

At launch, we experienced critical errors with our network infrastructure. The result was incredibly high ping, matchmaking errors, crashes, and servers not appearing in the browser.

Since launch, we’ve been working to address these issues and increase network stability, and we will continue our efforts until our network infrastructure is stabilized to prevent further outages.

While not perfect, the game is absolutely a blast to play and finding matches is relatively easy, at least on PlayStation 5. As soon as one ends, you’re thrown into another one rather quickly. The only real problem with the game is the number of “tickets” that determine who will win the game.

Each side starts out with 100 tickets and you lose one every time someone dies… That number is so low that matches can literally end within 5 minutes. Plus, there is no console crossplay. Perhaps down the road, Aspyr can add crossplay between PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo.
